1 month ago in Tunis

I arrived in Tunis on 24th November at midnight and moved to a cheaper hotel on 25th. Here are the pictures of my initial survival or apartment search. I got a SIM card, Tunisiana and went around city although I had no clue about Tunis and came back to the hotel in the evening. Although the view from the room was OK during the day, the sunset was a spectacle because of a nice mountain and lake ( at that time I thought it was bay or ocean!)

Preparation for the annual report 2010

Apart from finding out an office space, office key, telephone connection etc etc all by myself (with help of IT help desk who basically doesn't show up till I really harass them.....and I don't have such French skills yet), I started working on the department's annual report. Of course it's impossible to review each project because of more than 160 on-going projects that the department is currently managing; however, reading brief monthly reports gave me a good idea what/how the department did/didn't during the year. Underestimated to compile all monthly reports' the data/information into the one file (or small things took too much time as indicated in the beginning), I'm only done with half by now at 7pm (not bad!?) Tomorrow I'll join the management meeting in the afternoon (luckily I don't need to share my work yet!)

New discovery in Africa

After completing 2 weeks introduction program, I started working for agriculture department covering all countries in Africa. While reading some reports, some unfamiliar countries emerged.
Have you ever heard of "Sao Thome and Principe"?? It's a island country in the Gulf of Guinea.
I'll discover more in coming days for sure, not only names of countries but more substance....
